For bands
Technical rider: build your band's for free
Backline, input list and stage plot in one link, with a PDF. It is the document venues, festivals and promoters ask for before booking. On Tribhus it lives inside the band portfolio and updates whenever the lineup changes.
Free, no card. Takes about ten minutes.
What a technical rider is
Four terms the scene uses. If you are starting your first band, start here.
- Rider
- A rider is an attachment to a contract. For a show, it is the attachment to the performance contract listing what the band needs to play. The technical rider covers sound and stage; the hospitality rider covers the dressing room and food.
- Backline
- The stage gear: amps, drum kit, keyboards, stands. The backline says what the band brings and what the venue must provide, with quantities.
- Input list
- The list of channels going into the mixing desk, in order: kick, snare, hi-hat, bass, guitars, vocals. With it the engineer sets up the desk before the band arrives.
- Stage plot
- The stage seen from above: where each musician, amp and monitor goes. Also called a stage map.
